Two new services for SPOT images available on the SSE!

Two new services for SPOT images are available on the SSE Portal.
The "SPOT Image Reconditioning" allows the user manipulating a SPOT image by applying, in a single service through a check-box selection, Clipping and Format Conversion. It is accessible at this link.
The "SPOT Spectral pre-classification chain" service allows the user to manipulate a SPOT image by applying, in a single service through a check-box selection, Clipping, Calibration and Spectral Classification services and is accessible at this link.
Both services automatically apply also the Format Check, in order to avoid starting an elaboration on a corrupted input product.

ESRIN Holiday on 15/08/2008

Two new services for ESA Cat-1 users are available on the SS...

Two new services for ESA Cat-1 user images are available on the SSE Portal.
The "Calibrated Cat-1 image" service applies a radiometric conversion and correction processing tool to convert image digital numbers into physical units such as TOA reflectance for visiblebands and brightness temperature for thermal infrared bands.
You can access it here.
The "Spectrally pre-classified Cat-1 Image" service uses the SOIL MAPPER® to automatically map each pixel of the input image onto a discrete set of (up to) 85 spectral categories. The output can be in GeoTIFF or ENVI format. The Service is available for Landsat TM/ETM+ data belonging to the ESA Landsat TM Database.

SPOT DALI maintenance on 26/07/2008

For maintenance reasons, the SPOT DALI catalog will be shutdown on Saturday, July 26th, 2008, between 04:00 UTC and 18:00 UTC.

All SSE services depending on SPOT collections will be affected by this.

Two new services for user images pre-processing are available on the SSE Portal.
The "Calibration of user image" service converts image digital numbers into physical units such as reflectance for visible bands and brightness temperature for thermal infrared bands.

SPOT catalog maintenance on July 15, 2008

According to Spotimage, their SPOT catalog will be stopped today, July 15, 2008, from 11:30 to 12:00 (UTC).

A new service is now available for MERIS CAT-1 users!

The new "MERIS RR Cloud free Product for Cat-1 users" service for MERIS CAT-1 users is now available on the SSE Portal.

ESRIN holiday on 02/06/2008

The new "MGVI vegetation product over Africa via satellite" service for DDS users is now available on the SSE Portal.

Unavailability during weekend

Objective of the ITT is:

- To permit the evolution and test of the interoperability standards which have been initially defined within the HMA contract within the years 2006-2008,in parallel with the EO Data Access Integration Layer EO-DAIL implementation and the implementation of the specified interfaces within the partners' ground segments.
- To permit the conformance testing of any of the HMA adopted standards and to support industry and institutions in the testing of their own products or developments.
- To support the take up of HMA defined standards by European Institutional Users (e.g. INSPIRE Legally Mandated Organisations) and geospatial software product developers.

New WebMapViewer version available on the SSE!

The SSE is happy to offer its Users and Service Providers a brand new version of the WebMapViewer. Besides improvements regarding Look&Feel, these are the main new features:

- New WCS client
- Possibility to visualize raster files (GeoTiff)
- Support for alternative coordinate systems
- Improved layer management (new tree structure)
- AOI can now be simply a Point or a Line
- Live display of coordinates over map in most popular browsers
- Possibility of visualizing WMS layer legends
- AOI definition by entering polygon coordinates
- SOS client
- GMLJP2 WCS client

SSE support during Holiday period

Service Announcement From GeoID

GeoID from Belgium has released a new service, "CoastlineExtractor", on the SSE portal. The service requires payment but you can contact the provider to obtain a demo product. Service Announcement from Spot Image

Spot Image from France has released a new service "DirectWCTS" (Web Coordinate Transformation Service) on the SSE portal. The service is free and requires the user to upload a SPOT level 1 image. The National Geographic Institute of Belgium in cooperation with GIM has released a set of new services for the Belgium GIS user community. They can be accessed from the "1. Service Announcement from Critical Software

Critical Software from Portugal has released two new services "Integrated Forest Fire Risk Maps - PREMFIRE" and "Rapid Burn Scars Mapping - PREMFIRE" on the SSE portal. World Fire Atlas up again

Maintenance of the World Fire Atlas database has finished and the application is up and running again.

World Fire Atlas down

Starting Friday November 3rd, 2006, the World Fire Atlas layer provided by the WFS running on ssems1.esrin.esa.int will be down due to database maintenance. The application will be available again no later than Monday November 6th, 2006.

SSE unavailable on Tuesday May 23rd, 2006

On Tuesday May 23rd, 2006, the Service Support Environment will be down for maintenance. Activities are planned to start at 14:00 CET and are expected to last a few hours (they will definitely be finished by the end of the day). On Wednesday March 22nd, 2006, the Service Support Environment will be upgraded to version 5.0.
